TravelRest – The Ultimate Inflatable Travel Pillow

I recently tried this for a trans-Atlantic flight. It was very uncomfortable, partly because in order to not block the tv screen of the person behind me I couldn’t position the cord in the ideal place. I ended up not using. The built in head rest in the seat were more useful.

I read the reviews and was very impressed, so I bought the pillow via amazon. I was really hoping this would help with my long international flights. Unfortunately after trying the pillow I had two problems. First, it does not provide as much support as advertised even if you’re able to position it properly. Second, the nylon cord slips. There is no way this pillow will hold your weight unless you’re sitting in a window seat and jam it between the window and the seat.

I’ve purchased this pillow after reading a few favorable reviews on Amazon and I was planning to use it on a long plane trip. At first there was no option for the color, however, I’ve sent an e-mail to the customer service, and they sent me a color I’ve chosen. Unfortunately, I am unable to rate the ease of using this product because this pillow went flat within five minutes. When I came back from the trip I’ve contacted the manufacturer again (via e-mail) explaining what happened and asking for replacement. They responded promptly and promised to send me a replacement upon receipt of this defective item (at my own cost). I’m willing to give then another chance because my next long trip is within two weeks; however, do not really like the conditions of the replacement.

I took this on my last trip: 20,000 miles roundtrip on 10 flights. Two red-eyes on the way there and one red-eye on the way back. When I used it, it worked well. And it helped me a lot on one flight where the emergency exit was too cold to lean against comfortably. But I felt so stupid setting it up that I didn’t use it that much. It was really nice in the car on the way to the airport. I’ll bring it with me again, and I’ll definitely use it in the car, but I’m not sure it’s worth the price, about double a normal inflatable neck pillow.

My pillow developed a leak after using it on three trips. I notified customer service and they couldn’t have been nicer about sending a replacement, only asking me to submerge the pillow in water so that I could tell them where the leak was (it was on one of the seams).
The pillow itself is very difficult to use attached to the seat back: the cord moves around, the entertainment screens interfere with it, it is difficult to change sides, generally a pain. It works much better just attached around your body, and it is easy to change sides using it that way.
I think I like my KomfortKollar a little better. It’s good to have two kinds of pillows to change off on long trips.
