Not so great; my 9 week old french bulldog puppy was more afraid of this pillow than sleeping alone in her crate.

My now 4 month old cocker spaniel puppy enjoys playing with this everyday. We call it her “pillow”. WARNING! In my opinion, this toy should not be given unsupervised to a puppy over 8 weeks or so. First of all, the heart beat sound freaked my puppy out rather than relaxing her. Secondly, after a week or so, she was able to pull apart the velcro and expose the mechanical unit inside. I felt that made it very unsafe. I performed heart surgery and simply removed that unit for good – it pulls right out and you squeeze the velcro back together. Now, this is one of her favorite toys to “kill”. She takes it in her mouth and shakes it like crazy. This and one other toy are the only things she does that with. If she didn’t enjoy it so much, I would have had to give this a much lower rating.

I love the idea, but my puppy wanted to eat it. (of course) So, I had to keep it outside the crate. He was able to quickly undo the velcro and expose the plastic box inside with the batteries etc. And, it shuts off pretty quickly, so it never did what I was hoping – which was provide a nice heartbeat sound while he was acclimating to his crate.

PERFECT COMFORT TOY FOR PUPPIES. MINE LEARNED TO PUSH ON IT TO MAKE IT BEAT. SHE LOVES IT.

my puppy (7 week old lab) liked this- but as a chew toy more than anything. Does not even seem to notice if heartbeat is on or not. after chewing on it a few days, removed the box with the “heartbeat” as it is inside bone pillow, seam is velcro. I thought the puppy would be able to easily open the velcro and remove plastic casing for chewing. was hoping it would help appease him when alone or at night, but didn’t work for that function. seems to be a pretty sturdy chew toy though!
